Monday 4th July – Friday 8th July
Philip Island Adventure Resort

This year all of the Christian Unions across Victoria will be getting together for a ‘Super Summit’!
Summit is the best camp of the year. It’s 5 days of fun, meeting new people, and growing with God!

What to expect:
Plenty of ‘RMIT’ time to hang out together and have fun – play sport, games, or go for a coffee.  We’ll also be learning from God’s Word together as we hear awesome Bible talks from Lamentations and discuss in small groups.

There will be some huge ‘all in’ Victorian sessions in the evenings, with great Bible teaching from Mike Raiter – Principle of Melbourne School of Theology, vibrant music, and inspiring stories.

RMIT Speaker: Steve Denness
Steve loves it how God speaks to us throughout the Bible, even those parts we aren’t used to (like Lamentations).  During RMIT campus time, Steve will be explaining how the book of Lamentations is a useful message from God for us today.

What to bring:
Sleeping bag or blankets, sheets, pillow, clothes, spare shoes (for walking), board games, bible & pens, and spare money for coffee etc.

Getting to camp:
We will be car pooling to camp. You will be contacted regarding transport during the week prior to Summit.

Cost:

$220 if this is your first Summit
$240 if you’ve been to Summit before

(We’ve been able to reduce the price from $250 thanks to a grant from the RMIT Student Union)

Make sure you enter your reduced price when registering (below).

If money is an issue for you, please don’t let it stop you from coming, speak to a CU leader about the possibility of a subsidy.

I ♥ Summit!

Who wants to go down a water slide in the middle of winter? I certainly don’t! But hey, I’ll watch a bunch of people do it!

Summit was definitely the highlight of my uni holidays; 5 days of fellowship, friendship and knowing more about God and His love.

At first Summit wasn’t on the cards for my holidays because of other events that were happening at the same time. But then after a bit of convincing from a few people I thought to myself, “This may be my last year at RMIT, so I should really take advantage of an opportunity like this. I really had nothing to lose and so much to gain!”

I knew going into Summit that we were going to learn about God and His love but the very first talk about “The Love of God” was a bit of a shock to the system. However, the more we delved into God and His great love, the more I understood mercy, grace and His “tough love.”

What exceeded my expectations were the 1 John talks partnered with the manuscript discovery sessions; it really helped me grasp the meaning of what John wrote.

The workshops were great too! I especially enjoyed “Life in the Jungle” with Rob Martin; a workshop about the joys and struggles of full time work. Because this is my final year as an undergraduate I really took Rob’s advice on board and I hope to apply it to my career next year.

Heroes vs. Villains theme nightBesides watching people slide down into the icy cold lake, having a huge snow fight, staying up to see the sunrise… my highlight of Summit would have to be the awesome CU sisterhood! Going into Summit I only knew a hand full of girls but then after really bonding with them I went home knowing that these friendships are real treasures! I ♥ my CU sisters…

The scripture that pretty much sums up my experience of Summit is 1 John 3:1, “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!
