Philippians is a very encouraging letter in the Bible about Jesus and joy. At FOCUS in semester 2 we will read Philippians and do lots of other fun things together…
Category: Focus Events
We are having a sleepover at our home … a slumber party with steamboat, Wii, games, DVDs and maybe some sleep. If you would like to come along, contact Darren.
Note that we won’t have our usual FOCUS meeting at 4pm Friday August 5 due to the sleepover.
FOCUS meets on Fridays 4-6pm during the semester at RMIT in the student meeting room (8.3.18).
FOCUS stands for Fellowship of Overseas Christian University Students. We’re a group of international students that meet to make friends and meet Jesus. We like eating, improving our English, trips, camps, social events, encouraging each other, praying and reading the Bible together.
For more infomation, contact Darren.
Welcome International Students!
Whatever country you are from, you are welcome here.
If you come along to our group, you will be able to practice your english, make friends, and meet Jesus. You can join us for camps, eat food with us and have fun.
We are still organising everything we will do this year, so please contact us and tell us you are coming, and we will make sure you don’t miss out!
See you soon!

The following info may help with your registration choices:

You are required to supply all your own camping gear (tent, mat, etc), but can probably share with others who already have a tent.
Payment: If you don’t have a credit/debit card, you can bring cash to a CU event during semester and one of the leaders can use their credit card for you.
Transport: We will drive up together on Friday 2 December and return on Wednesday 7 December. We have hired a bus, and will car pool any additional cars needed. Transport cost approx $60.

Mission Training Day for all Missions:

What are these Missions?
At the Christian Union, we are committed in training Christian University Students to share their faith and to teach and encourage other Christians. So each year, in the week before the National Training Event (NTE) Conference in Canberra, we join together with three churches in Victoria to run outreach missions. You get training and experience helping with a church for five days, doing things like:
- Giving testimonies
- Giving a Bible talk
- Teaching Sunday school
- Running a youth group event
- Running a service at a nursing home
- Leading Bible studies
- decorating gingerbread men
- pulling weeds
There will be training and assistance for everything. It is a fantastic opportunity that’s lots of fun and we encourage you all to come along!
Cost: $60, however if you attend the NTE Conference, then the mission is FREE!
You will be allocated to a particular mission team.
