Flagstaff BBQ – 12:30pm, Friday 24 Feb, City

Mmm… Meet at 12:30pm Feb 24th near the Commonwealth Bank on Swanston St at the City Campus – outside the University Function Room (directions).

Then we’ll walk down to the Flagstaff Gardens together for a BBQ lunch, footy, frisbee, whatever.

Meat, vegetarian, salad, etc.

What an awesome time to connect with other students before classes begin.

Kick Off Camp: 30 March – 1 Apr

Kick Off is 2 days and nights of fun, friendship and growth. Come to meet people from city and Bundy campuses, and hear God through his Word!

There is comfortable accomodation surrounded by bush, excellent food, and plenty to do.

Love, Sex & Marriage
Just about everyone negotiates the minefields of relationships, sexuality and marriage. This weekend’s talks are dedicated to this important topic from 1 Corinthians 5-7.

Speaker: Steve Williams
Husband of Jean and father of Lizzy, Ben, Thomas and Andrew. As well as speaking about ‘Love, Sex & Marriage’, Steve will be moonlighting as a card shark on the weekend.

Program:
Starts: 7.00pm Friday 30 March (eat dinner before coming)
Finishes: 2pm Sunday 1 April

What to Bring:
– Pillow, sheets/blanket/sleeping bag
– Board games, sports equipment (if you have some)
– Torch, walking shoes
– Bible (if you have one) and pens
– Money for registration

The Upper Plenty Conference Centre is located near the Mt Disappointment State forest, near Wallan, approximately 50km North of Melbourne via the Hume Hwy, and around an hour’s drive from the Melbourne CBD.

Go to the AFES support page: (http://www.afes.org.au/support). Click ‘Make a donation’. Enter your name, the amount you are paying, and select ‘once’. Make sure the ‘worker’ you are paying is ‘RMIT Camps’. Then click next to enter your credit card details.

We’re glad you’re coming!

If you have just been offered a place at RMIT, congratulations, we’re glad you can join us!

There’s a whole lot of reasons why coming along to CU will make your time at RMIT more special – friendships, fun, belonging, exploring or growing as a Christian. Just ask the people who keep coming back!

We’re still planning the year, it’ll be a great year, and there’s more info to come. In the meantime:

National Training Event

The following info may help with your registration choices:

Strands: If you haven’t been to NTE before we recommend stand 1
Registration: Full
Accommodation: RMIT students are recommended to select camping, because that way we’ll be all together, as well as being close to the conference centre. Rest assured, meals are cooked for you, there are proper toilets, hot water, and you can use your hair dryer in the bathrooms! You are required to supply all your own camping gear (tent, mat, etc), but can probably share with others who already have a tent.

Payment: If you don’t have a credit/debit card, you can bring cash to a CU event during semester and one of the leaders can use their credit card for you.

Transport: We will drive up together on Friday 2 December and return on Wednesday 7 December. We have hired a bus, and will car pool any additional cars needed. Transport cost approx $60.

At the Christian Union, we are committed in training Christian University Students to share their faith and to teach and encourage other Christians. So each year, in the week before the National Training Event (NTE) Conference in Canberra, we join together with three churches in Victoria to run outreach missions.
